As a volunteer Creative Consultant, and Organizing Administrator for the Black Coalition Fighting Back Serial Murders, janet secures funding, organizes events, and creates socially engaged artworks to effect political policies and initiate civic engagement. She is a 2023 Arts and Humanities Fellow for the District of Columbia Commission on the Arts & Humanities and is the co-host of Re – Flect / Calibrate, the podcast on The Genealogy of Artivism. janet earned her Master of Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and her Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University in New York City. janet exhibits, performs, and teaches internationally, and is an Adjunct Professor instructing students on art and activism methodologies in the School of Art at George Mason University. She appreciates and is grateful for the brilliance of iridescent objects, the relaxing vibe when watching baking shows with her son and partner, the sound of flowing bodies of water, and the ability to dance whenever Spirit moves her.
