Meet our Intern!

  • Jan 14, 2020

Hello, my name is Lindsay and I am a sophomore at the University of Vermont pursuing a degree in Economics. I am thrilled to be joining the Emerge Vermont team as a communications intern for the spring term of 2020! As part of a male-dominated field of study, I see first-hand the importance of female perspective and thinking. I jumped at the opportunity to join the Emerge team because I want to be a part of the solution for gender equality in the political sphere. The main aspect that drew me towards this organization was its dedication to giving women a platform to join the political scene. In addition to learning the ins and outs of campaigning, fundraising, and reporting, I am most looking forward to meeting the inspiring and strong women in the program. As a communications intern, I will be involved with our social media platforms, attending events, and interacting with our trainees and alumnae. I hope to gain more knowledge about the political scene in Vermont, as well as bring awareness to the importance of women in office for upholding policies of equality and fairness. I look forward to working with everyone on the Emerge Vermont team!

Emerge has one goal: To increase the number of Democratic women in office who are reflective of the incredible diversity of the Democratic party by recruiting, training and providing a powerful network.
