She interned for Senator Patrick Leahy, in both his Vermont and Washington D.C. offices, and after college joined his office full-time answering phones, helping support Vermont constituents, and eventually serving as his staff nominations clerk during the appointments of Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
Since then, her career has focused primarily on development and fundraising with non-profit and higher education institutions and enabled her to return home to Vermont in 2015. She currently lives in Bennington with her husband Scott, who coaches men’s college lacrosse, and their dog Sadie.
